Yesterday I was watching Glee, a program I’m not a huge fan of, but a friend recommended this particular episode, as Gwyneth Paltrow and Lea Michele performed a dance piece in 1920s inspired red fringed flapper dresses. Gwyneth (who played substitute Spanish teacher Holly Holiday) gets together with Michela to perform a piece taken from the 2002 film Chicago, a film I really love! I remember seeing Chicago in the cinema and being really inspired by the costumes. I loved the end dance to the film, Nowadays, where Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renée Zellweger perform together in stunning white glittering flapper dresses. Here at Miss Moss Couture, I make different 20s inspired designs which would be perfect to wear to costume parties. All dresses are bespoke and specifically created just for you. I recently created my black flapper dress in other colours, red and purple with the black fringing. I’ve also started making more flapper inspired accessories. If you’re interested in these dresses, or have a design idea in mind please get in touch! I’m also very excited because I’ve been working together with a wonderful photographer Ayria Lovett from Berlin, who recently did a photoshoot with my red flapper dress design. New images coming soon!
Here’s a video of the performance Nowadays at the end of the film Chicago. Enjoy!
