If you’re a lover of Cabaret, make a date in your diary! Berliner Luft – It’s In The Air! is a new Cabaret Play illuminating the era of Weimar Berlin. The play is written, directed and performed by Immoral Babylon Productions, who are four very talented international Berlin-based artists and I’ve had the pleasure of working with them all! The show will have its world premier January 22-24, 2015 in the historic beautiful Ballhaus Berlin, which was built in 1905 and perfect building to set the scene.
In the 1920s, Berlin was the place to be for artists, dancers and musicians. The story is told through dancing, singing, comedy, story telling (and even some striptease). Following two New York vaudeville performers as they tire of the United States and follow their dreams of dancing and freedom to Europe. They travel through London and Paris and end up in Berlin. Along the way they perform traditional vaudeville Burlesque, Cancan, Charleston and experience true 1920s Berlin, both glamorous and gritty. Featuring appearances by stars of the time including the Mata Hari, Claire Waldorf, Marlene Dietrich, Anita Berber, and even Maria from the film Metropolis. This will defiantly be a night to remember! The play is suitable for German and International audiences.
